The Automatic Weather Station at HKUST --- UST AWS:

The UST AWS at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) was set up in early 1998 for coastal and atmospheric research.

Since early August 1998, the output data rate for the AWS has been adjusted to 1 minute (1-minute mean with 10-second sampling rate) for better resolution of the meteorological parameters. Data are transferred back to CCAR Operation Center through modem/mobile phone, updated every 5 minutes.

For the sunshine duration, it is derived from the solar radiation measurement. If the solar radiation value surpasses a set threshold, sunshine duration will be started counting. At the present moment, this threshold is set at 400 W/m2.
