Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The anticyclone aloft is bringing generally fine and very hot weather to southeastern China. Locally, temperatures in many places rose to 34 degrees or above in the afternoon.

At 4 p.m., Severe Tropical Storm Talim was centred about 330 kilometres southwest of Osaka. It is forecast to move northeast at about 45 kilometres per hour across Japan.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Mainly fine. Some haze at first. There will be one or two showers tomorrow morning. Hot during the day. Temperatures will range between 27 and 32 degrees. Light winds, becoming moderate easterlies tomorrow.

Outlook : Mainly fine on Tuesday. Cloudier with a few showers in the middle and latter parts of this week.

radiation monitoring stations over various parts of the

    1. From readings taken at various locations in Hong Kong during
the period 1987-2016, the background ambient gamma radiation
levels may vary between 0.06 and 0.30 microsievert per hour.

    2. The extent of health effects to a person as a result of
exposure to radiation is expressed by a physical quantity
called equivalent dose, in unit of sievert.  Protective
action may be required if there is an increase in the
ambient gamma dose rate above background such that the total
additional dose is expected to exceed 5000 microsieverts in
a relatively short period of time. For example, a dose of
5000 microsieverts may be reached when the ambient gamma
dose rate is 1000 microsieverts per hour (several thousand
times above background) and lasts for 5 hours.

    3. The readings of ambient gamma radiation level from
instrument are expressed in unit of gray, which is
numerically equal to the gamma dose expressed in sievert.
