Tropical Cyclone Warning

Tropical Storm Bailu (1911) has weakened into a Tropical Depression with central pressure 998 hectopascals. At 250900 UTC, it was centred within 60 nautical miles of two four point seven degrees north (24.7 N) one one five point one degrees east (115.1 E) and is forecast to weaken further and move west-northwest at about 10 knots for the next 12 hours.

Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 30 knots.

Radius of over 2 metre waves 150 nautical miles over southeast quadrant, 90 nautical miles elsewhere.

Forecast position and intensity at 252100 UTC
Dissipated over land.

The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.

  2. Temporal variations are generally caused by changes in meteorological conditions such as rainfall, wind and barometric pressure.
  3. Spatial variations are generally caused by differences in the radioactive content of local rock and soil.
  4. The data displayed is provisional. Only limited data validation has been carried out.
